The Addition

Well today they finally started digging.

I know, I know The date stamp is wrong on the picture (IÂ’ve fixed that). Anyway hereÂ’s a couple more pics.
This was at lunch time.

HereÂ’s were day 1 ended up.

The rough inspection of the footer passed late yesterday afternoon, so now we wait on the concrete.

No picture today but they DID finish the block...now bring on the lumber!

Black Friday Indeed!
A sad day today.Theythe got walls up but the walls just brought out the fact that the foundation is 7 inches out of square! A little hard to tell in this pic but looking down the side of the house or down the side of the addition it's VERY apparent.

Best I can tell is they'll have to tare it ALL down and start over.
In this pic it looks as if it's not level either...I didn't check but based on the out-of-square error I'm pretty sure it's not level either! UGG!

Wax on, Wax off (Walls up, Walls down)
Well, after a couple of days of them trying to explain to me how they were going to make it look square, or add a little here and a little there to make things line up We finally put our foot down and insisted they tear the walls and side foundations down and do it "right".

Just a quick update...The new (straight) foundation is in and were almost back to wear we were.

The new "Square" and "Level" walls are up!!! We are supose to be under roof by Friday, Roofers will be here Thursday to start on the roof (Getting new roof on the whole house also). There's a string there to see where the new roof will be.

New roof going on, addition coming along now.

Interior wall for the bathroom and the closet are UP...Back off house removed, Old bedroom/new bedroom joined.

Haven't had an update in a few days because nothing new to show, They put in plumbing, it FAILED! inspection for the second time yesterday...third time may be a charm. Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Failed Plumbing inspection for the 3rd time today! This time there's 8 things on the list to fix...first time was 3 second time was 4 or 5. I think they have pissed off the inspector. Ohh and now there's a reinspection fee, I'm not paying it!

Passed Plumbing inspection on the 4th time!
Now on with the show...what will they screw up next?

Lots of activity last few days...Exterior is finished.



Drywall and plaster suppose to be finished today, We'll see?

Lots of progress this week, Not much that can be seen in pictures but it's all coming to an end...Carpet is being installed in Thursday the 9th, I've pushed everyone to finish up before then. Once the carpet goes down we can call it finished. Then we still need to move in...Yeh!

Well, I don't believe it! We had final inspections on Friday and they all passed. We cleaned and cleaned this weekend, Put the mirrors on the medicine cabinet and put the shower doors up. Oh and we picked up the new dresser and armoire, We'll move the bed and stuff next weekend. Window shades in 2 more weeks.

FINALLY!!! Blinds are up and we're "officially" done with the addition. It's been a L O N G strange trip.
